The Agri-Business Incubation Centre at ICAR-IIMR, Ludhiana caters to the incubation of entrepreneurs, FPOs and other stakeholders and mentor them by providing technical guidance for enhancing the business thereby improving employment and livelihood security. The centre conducts outreach programmes which involves providing trainings to scientific community and farmers alike. The staff at Agri-Business Incubation Centre (ABIC) participates in various training sessions along with the other officials. During the programmes, the experts focus on the development of value-added products as well as the significance of bio-fortified maize for food and nutritional security and, livelihood protection. The ABI emphasizes the importance of organizing farmers into Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) and encourage woman farmers to look into the potential for entrepreneurship through the value addition of maize, with a focus on the use of bio-fortified maize.

The ABIC has also developed many maize based value-added products in the categories of traditional, bakery, snack products etc. The bakery products like muffins, cookies and biscuits, and traditional product i.e. burfi are also sold by the ABIC of ICAR-IIMR. These products are also displayed in the stalls set up during the various events such as kisan melas.
